| Description:
This programme shows how, with modern machines and tooling, plus the
application of safe working practices, the average woodworker can use
the spindle / shaper safely to achieve a high standard of work.
The machine is described in detail together with its ancillary equipment
and cutter blocks. A number of workshop-made jigs and holders are featured.
Basic setting up is shown, followed by numerous detailed operations,
including:
· straight moulding
· grooving and rebating
· stopped moulding
· moulding small components
· raised panel work
· machining semi-finished work
· the circular saw on the spindle
· Straight fence shaping
· comb jointing
· tenoning
· profile scribing
· the power feed and circular work using the Ring Fence and Bearing
Ring.
Careful study of this programme should enable
the woodworker to use the spindle moulder / shaper with safety and confidence.
